Saturday, September 26, 2026 marks the 8th Annual River's Edge Endurance Challenge. The race and challenges are sponsored by the Brunswick High School Athletic Boosters a nonprofit 501(c)(3), and as such serves as a fundraiser for the Brunswick High School Track and Field program. All Monies raised by this event will be dedicated to the purchase of much needed equipment which is not otherwise funded by Frederick County Public Schools (FCPS).
A portion of the race course will utilize the newly developed River's Edge Trail System (check out their Facebook page!) which has garnered quite a bit of attention for Brunswick and has already been the site of a large cycling event multiple times.
Our race will offer 3 in person options. You can choose between a 3.1 mile(5k) loop as well as a 3 hour or 6 hour challenge which have their own 5 MILE loop. Given the variety of offerings and the timing of this race being a great trainer race for those runners in the famous JFK 50 Miler and other ultras, we expect to see a wide range of participants from local weekend warriors to elite endurance athletes traveling to Brunswick from out of town.
To give Brunswick High School Track and Field student athletes the same chance as other well funded schools to compete and perform well at track and field by replacing and providing the newest and best equipment that the student athletes deserve.
